Level I : Nitrous Oxide, or “laughing gas,” is the mildest form of sedation we offer.
Ideal for patients seeking a gentle touch of calm during their dental treatments, this complimentary service (valued at $180) requires no medical clearance. You can drive to and from your appointment with minimal side effects, and continue with your day uninterrupted.
Once the nose cone is placed, inhale deeply and allow the tranquil ambiance to envelop you. Within minutes, you’ll be relaxed yet responsive, fully aware of your surroundings with the relief of any tension.
Level II : For those needing a deeper level of relaxation, Level II sedation is the answer.
This comprehensive approach requires pre-arranged transportation and care, as it combines liquid oral medication with Nitrous Oxide for enhanced comfort. With noise-canceling headphones and an overhead TV, you’ll feel at ease, while we carefully monitor your blood pressure and oxygen levels.
Level III : The deepest level of conscious sedation.
The good news is that the majority of patients are great candidates for Level III sedation dentistry. In fact, we like to say they are our safest patients we have in the office, using our hospital grade monitoring system. At Perfect Smiles, we prioritize the health and safety of our patients and make sure to thoroughly evaluate all medical histories and current health conditions before proceeding with sedation dentistry. The process is really easy using our scheduling checklists which will involve a quick fax to your general doctor for clearance.

How safe is sedation dentistry?

Our team is adept in Advanced Life Support Techniques, ensuring that patients are in competent hands during their visit. This certification is above regular cardiopulmonary resuscitation (AKA CPR) and uses a hospital grade monitoring system which will give us a visual recording throughout your appointment of your: Blood pressure, Blood Oxygen level, Heart Rate, Breathing Capnography/ rhythms, and watches the way your heart is beating through an electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG).
During sedation dentistry appointments, we prioritize patient safety. In fact, our sedation patients are indeed our safest patients, as we maintain a comprehensive understanding of their well-being throughout the entire appointment.
