What our patient’s say
Carol G.
“I have severe anxiety when getting dental work done. I needed to have a tooth removed and was petrified. Ally and Dr Tracy made my experience the best experience I have ever had. I am even going to come back and have other work done. No More Fear!!! I can’t believe it!!! From the front office greeting by Cynthia to the check out. The entire experience was a pleasure” – Carol G.
K.M.
“Thank you all so much for relieving my anxieties about the work I had to have done on my teeth. I was so nervous but everyone made me feel comfortable and at ease with the procedures I had to have done. I still have more work to have done but I am no way as apprehensive as I was. Thank you all.” – K.M.
Jesus R.
“Being someone who is extremely anxious about dentists and given my past experiences (all bad). I have to say this is the ONLY dentist I will recommend from here on out! From the laid back, friendly environment, to the amazing staff, it’s like a day at the spa. They are extremely knowledgeable and HELPFUL.” – Jesus R.
Comfortable Care You Can Feel Confident About
It’s completely normal to feel nervous about dental treatment—or even about sedation itself. That’s why we take the time to explain every step, answer your questions, and recommend the safest, most comfortable option for your individual needs.
With personalized sedation and comfort dentistry, even highly anxious patients can receive the care they need in a calm and supportive environment.
Let us help you relax and feel confident about your next visit. Dentistry really can be easy here.
What should I expect with sedation dentistry?
Dental anxiety should never keep you from getting the care you need. At Perfect Smiles Dentistry, we offer three levels of sedation to help you feel calm, comfortable, and in control throughout your visit.
We’ll listen to your concerns, review your health history, and help you choose the level of relaxation that is right for you.
Level I : Nitrous Oxide
Nitrous oxide, commonly known as “laughing gas,” is our mildest form of sedation. It’s a great option if you simply need a little help relaxing during treatment.
A comfortable nosepiece delivers the nitrous oxide, helping you feel calm within minutes. You’ll remain awake, responsive, and aware of your surroundings throughout your appointment.
Benefits include:
- Complimentary for our patients—a $180 value
- No medical clearance required
- Minimal side effects
- No driver needed
- Effects wear off quickly, allowing you to continue with your day
Level II : A Deeper Level of Relaxation
If you experience moderate dental anxiety or need additional support during treatment, Level II sedation may be a better fit.
This option combines liquid oral medication with nitrous oxide to create a deeper sense of calm. You can also relax with noise-canceling headphones and an overhead TV while our team carefully monitors your blood pressure and oxygen levels.
Because the medication’s effects may last after your appointment, you will need to arrange for a responsible adult to drive you to and from the office and remain with you afterward.
Level III : Our Deepest Level of Sedation
Level III provides our deepest level of relaxation and may be ideal for patients with significant dental anxiety, a sensitive gag reflex, difficulty getting numb, or extensive treatment needs.
Many patients are excellent candidates for this level of sedation. Before moving forward, our team will carefully review your medical history and current health to make sure sedation is appropriate for you. If medical clearance is needed, our simple scheduling checklist includes sending a quick request to your primary care provider.
Throughout your visit, you will be closely observed using hospital-grade monitoring equipment so our trained team can continuously monitor your vital signs and prioritize your safety.
How safe is sedation dentistry?
Your Safety Comes First
Before recommending sedation, we take the time to understand your health, medications, concerns, and individual needs. You’ll complete a thorough health review with our team, and medical clearance will be obtained when required.
There’s no need to worry about managing the process yourself. Our team follows a clear checklist and will help coordinate the necessary information with your medical provider.
Experienced, Highly Trained Care
Our dental professionals receive advanced training in sedation techniques and continue their education across multiple areas of dentistry. This experience allows us to provide comfortable, personalized care while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety.
Our sedation team is also trained in advanced life-support techniques that go beyond standard CPR. Throughout your appointment, hospital-grade equipment allows us to continuously monitor important signs, including:
-
Blood pressure
-
Blood oxygen level
-
Heart rate
-
Breathing rate and rhythm
-
Capnography, which monitors your breathing
-
Electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG), which monitors your heart’s activity
This continuous monitoring gives our team a clear picture of how you are doing throughout your entire visit.
Comfort With Confidence
Sedation can make dental care easier if you feel anxious, have had a difficult dental experience, struggle to get numb, or need extensive treatment. We offer three levels of sedation, allowing us to personalize your experience based on your comfort needs, health history, and planned treatment.
We’ll explain your options, answer your questions, and help you choose the safest and most comfortable approach for you.
